Zephyr Condors
Frontier Conference · Horizon Division · Air raid, passing volume
Profile
“Spread them out. Throw it again.”
The Zephyr Condors are the league's purest passing team. Their offense is Hal Mumme and Mike Leach's Air Raid: four receivers on most snaps, a short list of concepts drilled to perfection, and a quarterback who distributes the ball to whoever is open.
Mesh, Y-cross, stick and four verticals form the backbone of the playbook. In spread formations the Condors even replace their tight end with a fourth wide receiver. On short-yardage downs they keep throwing: a quick stick or slant is, for them, the equivalent of a running play.
The Condors pile up passing yards and completions. The question each week is whether their defense, a middle-of-the-pack unit, can get enough stops to let the volume turn into wins.
Identity: vision, distribution, insistence.
